The Textile and Fashion Hub at Kangan Institute offers sampling & short-run manufacturing services, industry-relevant training courses for designers and small businesses as well as customised industry training for manufacturers.

Located in the heart of Cremorne, with state-of-the-art facilities and the very latest in industry-standard technology, the Textile and Fashion Hub is the missing link between the birth of a creative concept and its final emergence as a finished product.

Our full-time industry experts are available to assist designers and businesses with their garment development and manufacturing requirements, with a series of options and packages for the knitting and development of garments.

With extensive industry experience and expertise, our consultants also work closely with the textile design and manufacturing industry to help create manufacturing efficiencies and compliance practices that will improve the bottom line.

Hub Services

Knitwear

Using whole-garment and flat-bed knitting technology, we can produce sampling and short run production of seamless garments, homewares, trims and accessories. We can work with basic knitting modes, jacquard, cable, intarsia and more.

Whether you are a student looking to produce a one-off sample for your graduate collection or a small label looking to develop and produce a range of knitwear, we are comfortable working with all levels of experience.

CO2 Laser

Our large format CO2 laser can mark, engrave or cut a wide range of fabrics and materials up to 60x120cm. Whether you are looking to precision cut pieces for applique or quilting, cut unique swing tags or create a unique fabric, we can assist you with a wide range of projects.

Digital Embroidery

Our digital embroidery machines are capable of up to 16 colours. With attachments for broderie anglaise, sequins and applique, we can produce a wide range of designs on fabrics, garments and hats.

Tailored Training

Our industry expert consultants work closely with your organisation to identify and define the requirement. This gives us the opportunity to better understand your business, your people and your processes. This allows us to build the training packages that specifically addresses the needs of your organisation.

Room Hire

We have a variety of rooms available complete with interactive screens. You can either use our boardroom with catering facilities, seminar room, general purpose classroom or computer labs.
