Students to set the stage for success with music album launch

Kangan Institute’s Diploma of Music Industry (CUA50815) students have joined forces to produce an original music album, Euphoria, to be officially unveiled at the Kangan Institute 2018 Music Album Launch event on 14 November.

The album will reflect the skills and expertise of talented students who are training for dynamic careers in the music industry, ranging from performance and composition to music production and engineering.

Amy Gooch, who enrolled in Kangan Institute’s music program after dropping out of secondary school at Year 11, says studying music at TAFE and the opportunity to create an album is preparing her for a career in the music industry.

“I chose to study music so I can pursue a career as a performer in the industry,” she said.

“I’ve learnt how to work with a variety of talented musicians, perform to an audience and create an original album. I’ve also discovered the ‘behind the scenes’ perspective of the music industry, such as the theoretical and business sides of things.”

Kangan Institute’s CEO Trevor Schwenke says the music album project will enable students to hone technical skills and gain relevant experience for careers in industry.

“Our courses focus on practical skills and experiences to prepare graduates for the real world,” he said.

“Producing a music album like this involves a great deal of creativity, passion, technical skills and collaboration, and is an invaluable experience that our students can take to their future endeavours, whether it’s a career in the music industry or further studies.

“We’re very proud of our students and look forward to a terrific album launch celebration.”
