Applications now open for L’Oréal Beauty for All Scholarships

Kangan Institute and L’Oréal Australia are once again joining forces to offer students an opportunity to study beauty therapy at no cost.

Applications are now open for L’Oréal Australia’s ‘Beauty for All’ scholarships which supports students who are facing difficult circumstances preventing (or have prevented) them from being able to undertake vocational training.

Now in its second year, the scholarships are open to Kangan Institute students who have enrolled in the Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115) and are commencing study in August 2019.

Successful recipients will be selected by a selection panel from both the education and beauty sector. Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees, necessary study tools and learning resources for each successful recipient.

Kangan Institute CEO Phill Murphy said the scholarship program offered disadvantaged students more options to achieve their goals.    

“We’d like to thank L’Oréal Australia for their generous support and commitment to fostering skilled talent in the beauty industry,” he said.

“The scholarship program provides disadvantaged students with greater options to pursue the future they want.”

Kangan Institute beauty graduate Amber Ghent, who received the scholarship last year, is an example of the program’s success thus far. Amber now works as a qualified beauty therapist and attributes her achievements to the scholarship and training program.

“Having skills and the scholarship under my name has played a beneficial part in my career. I now work at a high end salon and I do everything from nails and waxing to massage and tanning... basically everything I learnt at school,” she said.

Amber said the scholarship provided her with an opportunity to build a future out of her passion.

“Things were financially hard for me so I decided to apply for the scholarship. If I hadn’t received the scholarship I wouldn’t have been able to do the course and get to where I am today.”

Aspiring beauty students who are eligible for the scholarship are encouraged to apply before applications close on 26 July 2019.
