Kangan Institute's Certificate III in Horticulture graduate Craig Burchat will be showcasing his outstanding 'Achievable Garden' design within the world-renowned 2013 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show this March. The prestigious Show is ranked second only to the Chelsea Flower and Garden Show in England and has been recognised by Tourism Victoria as one of Victoria's feature 'hallmark' events promoted extensively within Australia and overseas. Craig's garden design 'Surf & Turf' will be featured in the Avenue of Achievable Gardens and will compete against other entries for a Show award. Produced during his course at Kangan Institute and subsequently chosen for entry into the Show, Craig's design will attempt to capture the essence of the city beach lifestyle by bringing together different coastal elements. "My passion in landscaping is bringing together the old and the new worlds, combining classic design with new age style," he said. "I try to use clean lines and soft curves to subtly accentuate bold features." Visitors to the Show can look forward to taking short strolls in soft sand or reclining in a dinghy sofa amidst tropical palms and strelitzias via Craig's tropically charged entry. 'Recipe cards' will also be provided to the public to recreate the unique design in their own backyard. 2013 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show When: Wednesday 20th - Sunday 24th March 2013 Where: Carlton Gardens & Royal Exhibition Building 9 Nicholson Street, Carlton For more information, please visit the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show webpage.
