Kangan Institute and Nissan Motorsports partner to get students trackside

Four automotive students from Kangan Institute's Automotive Centre of Excellence will complete a six month full time internship with Nissan Motors' V8 racing team. As part of the program selected students Adrian Sarkadi, Paul Pawlyszyn, Enrico Beccaris and Edward Hamilton will be assigned to Nissan's Jack Daniels or Norton team and experience preparation and re-assembly work across various national and international race circuits. They will also each receive a $3500 Kangan Institute scholarship for the duration of the internship. The students have expressed their delight at being shortlisted after an in-depth interview process with Nissan and Kangan Institute representatives. "I'm really excited - I've always loved motorsports since I was young and I'm just overwhelmed that I've been offered this opportunity to be a part of such a massive operation. This is the best of the best; I'm just thrilled," said Paul Pawlyszyn who hopes to eventually work as an engine builder and tuner. "Something like this is going to help my future as I'll be working in the top level of motorsport. It's going to give us that much more experience working with a high level team." Paul also shared the best parts about training at Kangan Institute. "I love going to Kangan Institute - it's a great place to be. I've got a great teacher Greg Moulden and we've got a great group of guys in the class. It's a good environment to be in to learn," he said. Joe Ballato, Kangan Institute automotive operations manager, noted that this latest initiative is an important opportunity for students to gain practical experience within a real-time racing environment. "Kangan Institute is well-known for its strong industry links and this new opportunity to work with a tier one racing team is yet another way for our students to gain exposure to industry's best practices whilst completing their studies," said Joe. "As the first TAFE to build a partnership with a racing team, we are proud to be leading the way to a new era of innovative, hands-on motorsport training." Kangan Institute offers motorsport training across certificates II, III and IV levels. Training is delivered at Kangan Institute's state-of-the-art Automotive Centre of Excellence in Docklands. Congratulations to the students selected: Adrian Sarkadi Paul Pawlyszyn Enrico Bellaris Edward Hamilton
