Kangan Institute and Torrens University collaborate - News

Kangan Institute and Torrens University have signed a collaboration agreement to introduce new study pathway packages for international students enrolling in fashion and hospitality courses in 2019.

The new packages will enable international students enrolling at Kangan Institute to complete a selected diploma qualification and access study credits and a guaranteed pathway into a relevant bachelor degree at Torrens University.

Packages include:

  • Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising at Kangan Institute, with  a guaranteed pathway into the Bachelor of Branded Fashion Design at Torrens University
  • Diploma of Hospitality Management at Kangan Institute, with a guaranteed pathway into the Bachelor of Business (Hospitality Management) at Torrens University

Kangan Institute CEO Trevor Schwenke said “Kangan Institute is proud to be collaborating with Torrens University to create new opportunities for prospective international students.

“We are committed to delivering programs that create highly employable graduates who meet and exceed the needs of industry within and beyond Australia.      

“The new study pathway packages enable students to gain two world-class qualifications, and skills and knowledge that reflect the best of hands-on vocational training at TAFE and tertiary education at university.”

Torrens University General Manager, Business & International, Mark Falvo, said “We are excited to be collaborating with Kangan Institute to provide pathway opportunities to students in the fields of design and hospitality.

“Our main objective at Torrens is to design and teach courses that will take graduates further in the modern workplace, arming them with industry-recognised skills with a global edge.

“This collaboration will give students from Kangan Institute the chance to gain a university qualification, along with the valuable skills and experience that will allow them to excel in their careers both in Australia and globally.”

Discussions are in place to introduce more study packages in 2019, including accounting and leadership and management disciplines.
