Kangan Institute has been named Australia’s top large training provider for 2022 at the Australian Training Awards in Adelaide on Friday night.
Kangan Institute CEO Sally Curtain said she was proud of the impact Kangan Institute has had on students, industry and the local community.
“It’s an honour to be recognised nationally for all the hard work our people do to make a real difference to the lives of thousands of students who choose to study with us each year.
“Our mission is to empower people, our community and industry with the skills to make a bright future, and awards like these are a really important mark of our success,” Ms Curtain said.
Kangan Institute progressed to the 2022 Australian Training Awards final after winning the Victorian prize earlier this year.
Kangan Institute English teacher Susan Shaw won the award for Excellence in Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice Award.
Ms Shaw teaches English as a second language, coordinates and oversees online English courses, while also building strong community links to help her students gain confidence in job seeking.
“This is great recognition of the work we do as Language Literacy and Numeracy teachers in providing our students with the foundation skills for study, for work and for life.
“This is also acknowledgment for all my dedicated and hard-working colleagues in Kangan Vocational English. I am proud to accept this award on behalf of all of them,” Ms Shaw said.
Ms Curtain congratulated Ms Shaw on her win at the Australian Training Awards.
“It’s wonderful to see Susan recognised nationally for her enormous commitment and dedication to teaching English as a second language,” she said.
“Our teachers work tirelessly to support our students in their learning and are the backbone of the work we do at Kangan Institute.”
