Kangan Institute has welcomed a funding boost of over $3.3 million from the Australian Government to support delivery of an urban development strategy for Broadmeadows.
Kangan Institute is a major stakeholder for the Broadmeadows Revitalisation Project, which is championed by Hume City Council and supported by partners on the Broadmeadows Revitalisation Board.
The project aims to address societal disadvantage in the area while transforming Broadmeadows into a centralised hub for Melbourne’s north.
This funding will enable the development of a comprehensive roadmap that identifies priority projects and sequencing across the precinct that supports improving access to education, boosting local commercial activity, increasing housing and creating jobs for residents.
Led by Hume City Council, project partners include: Kangan Institute, Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung, Vicinity Group, Victoria University, Banksia Gardens Community Services, DPV Health, Brite, Northern Legal Community Health, Spectrum and the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning to deliver a transformative plan that meets the needs of the community and drives sustainable growth.
