Campuses
From July 2013, Kangan Institute will be delivering a hands-on Introduction to Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) program at Richmond campus. Students may choose to focus on health, fitness, fashion or art. Kangan Institute's Centre for Youth manager Chris Camwell said the program will offer students a new, practical option to complete secondary schooling. "We know from the feedback received from schools and community groups that there is a real need for hands-on VCAL courses," Chris said. "Our program is unique in that it offers a more adult, diverse learning environment, which may be just what an individual needs to flourish." The Richmond campus is known for its focus on fashion, sport and recreation training and students stand to benefit from the Institute's long-standing expertise and modern facilities. VCAL graduates can also access various pathways into further study. "We understand that learning is not a 'one size fits all' and we're developing a learning solution that really brings out the hidden potential in every young individual and broadens their future options and choices," Chris said. Students who need guidance in exploring their study options may speak to Kangan Institute's NEXT STEP staff - NEXT STEP is a free service for 15-19 year olds looking to identify a study pathway that suits their individual learning needs.
