Kangan Institute is proud to be recognised as finalists in the 2013 Victorian Training Awards within the VET Client Service/Support Excellence Award and Victorian Industry Collaboration Award categories. Kangan Institute finalists include the Student Engagement System and Skills Recognition and Employment Services both shortlisted for the VET Client Service/Support Excellence Award as well as the VACC Auto Apprenticeships shortlisted for the Industry Collaboration Award. The Victorian Training Awards reward outstanding achievement and innovation in vocational education and training. Nominees are judged on their innovation, client focus, commitment to VET support services and their understanding of industry and community needs. Kangan Institute's Student Engagement System demonstrated excellence on these fronts and is recognised for its success in helping students increase their language, literacy and numeracy skills, and improving access, participation and completion of courses across the Institute. By the same token, the Skills Recognition program stands out for its great work with individuals and organisations over the year. This includes working closely with businesses to help workers find new opportunities in view of recent restructuring within manufacturing and aviation sectors. In the running for best industry collaboration, the VACC Auto Apprenticeships partnership involves the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC), the Victorian Holden Dealers Service Managers Association and Kangan Institute in an innovative initiative that has achieved over 99% satisfaction rate amongst apprentices. Kangan Institute's automotive programs are delivered at Docklands campus while the Student Engagement System and Skills Recognition services are available to students across the Institute at Broadmeadows, Docklands, CBD, Essendon, Richmond and Moonee Ponds campuses. The Victorian Training Awards Presentation Ceremony will be held Friday 6th September 2013 at the Palladium at Crown, Melbourne.
