5 Reasons why you should upgrade your current Training Assessment Qualification to TAE40122

1. Industry evolution and adaptation: As with various industries, the Vocation Education and Training (VET) sector constantly evolves. The TAE40122 update reflects the necessary changes to ensure that training and assessment standards align with the dynamic nature of industries.

2. Impact of COVID-19: The global pandemic significantly influenced changes in the Training and Education field. Coupled with industry consultation and feedback, this prompted a review leading to the TAE40122 release.

3. Specific changes in the new qualification: The TAE40122 qualification involves an increase in the number of units from 10 to 12. Notably, there's greater flexibility in elective choices, allowing customisation for diverse cohorts and local enterprises.

4. No Immediate impact for potential students: Both TAE40116 and TAE40122 are recognised as minimum entry qualifications for Vocational Trainers and Assessors by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

5. Professional development and future updates: While TAE40122 is the new standard, there is no immediate requirement for existing holders of TAE40116 to upgrade. However, ongoing professional development remains crucial for trainers and assessors to stay current in their roles.

If an individual holds the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment but lacks the two additional units at the end of the teach-out period for equivalence to the TAE40122 qualification, they would be required to complete the entire TAE40122 qualification from the beginning. This is a critical detail that individuals should be aware of, ensuring they fulfill the necessary criteria for equivalence or progression to the updated qualification.

Moreover, for individuals holding the previous TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, the need for an upgrade is contingent on specific completion criteria.
