Seven of Kangan Institute's Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology students will be showing their creations at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week's (MSFW) MSFW:Emerging. To be held on Sunday, 1st September 2013 the Student Runway will showcase the works of young designers from institutions across the state. The students were all thrilled to be selected for the coveted places. They will now begin constructing their ensembles for showing. "Receiving news that I was going to be a part of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week this year is not only exciting but very motivating!" says Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology student Caitlin Bowen who will be showing an outfit from her couture collection. "We can actually be part of the fashion industry outside of our classes, even before we graduate. I'm especially looking forward to being able to share my designs with the people of Melbourne." Kangan Institute's Centre for Fashion and Creative Industries at Richmond delivers courses that cover all aspects of clothing and fashion manufacturing from concept, design, pattern-making, manufacturing through to promotion and the business of fashion. Now in its 19th year, MSFW provides a platform for new and established designers to showcase their work, for retailers to promote their new season stock and for designers, retailers and their customers to connect. Congratulations to the students selected.
